What is a Lasting Power of Attorney?
If you are worried about what will happen to your financial
affairs or your personal care in the future if you have an accident or become ill
and you no longer have the mental capacity to look after
your own affairs, you can draw up an Lasting Power of
Attorney. This can be effective immediately or will only come
into effect if you lose your mental capacity. This means
that you can choose who is to have responsibility for your
property and money if you lose your mental capacity too
suddenly to make arrangements at the time
